Introduction & Procedures

The service is a fixed price pay as you use it service, provided over the Internet, or if you prefer parts can be sent by Tape, CD or Diskette.

In order to use the service you will need to provide details about your company and the type of data you want to convert and what format you want it converted to or from.
Once your data has been submitted we will evaluate it and provide you with a fixed price quotation for converting it to the format of your choice. As well as the price we will provide a list of the entities in the part(s) and a graphic image, GIF file, of the parts(s) submitted for processing. All of which will be provided on the Web. If you want your data returning on tape etc. and a hard copy print of the quotation, this can be provided. This can be faxed to you if you prefer.
Once you receive the quotation you should review it and then send your purchase order, or pay by credit card to enable us to proceed. Please note we cannot process data until a firm purchase order or payment has been provided.
Normally you will receive a quotation within 2 working days of submitting data. Once you have accepted the quotation your data will be dispatched within one working day.

Data Conversion - This is our main service and provides translation between a broad range of CAD formats and STEP. Supported CAD formats are detailed on our Products page

Data Analysis - Theorem's converter products are in daily use by many of the worlds major companies, so they are well proven and robust. However if you know or suspect that your data has problems with it, which may cause difficulty in translation you can choose to have it analysed to see if it will convert, or which elements of it will convert, a report on the data will be provided. Following analysis the data can be converted to the format of your choice.
Data Repair - Theorem's converter products are in daily use by many of the worlds major companies, so they are well proven and robust. However if our analysis shows that data will not convert because it needs repair we can offer this service to you. Theorem have a range of mechanisms including CADhealer, a broad range of CAD systems, and utilities to enable the repair of problem data. The first stage is analysis and then repair. Following repair the data will be converted to the format of your choice.

Before you decide to use the service you should determine that the Products on offer provide the service you require, and that they cover the range of entities you need.

Data Conversion - is charged using a pricing formula based upon file size, and data complexity. Simple parts may cost as little as £35 ($50) to convert, increasing in cost up to hundreds of pounds ($) if the part is exceptional in size or complexity

Data Analysis - is charged on a fixed price basis to determine if the data will convert as requested. The standard analysis is charged at £95 ($150). More detailed analysis if requested is on a Time and Materials basis against a fixed price quotation.
Data Repair and Healing - is charged on a Time and Materials basis, against a fixed price quotation, the minimum charge being £95 ($150).
Fixed Price - Before you proceed a firm quotation will be provided, so you know exactly what you will pay. Obviously you can decline to use the service if you feel the cost is too high. We do not believe it will be, like everything in life you get what you pay for.

In order to use the service we need information on your company to enable us to set up an account for billing and shipping purposes. On completion of the Registration Form we will send you a unique Bureau ID and password. The combination of these will allow you to communicate with us in future, to request or review quotations and update your personal details. Click here to register.

Before we can deliver a quote to you, you must have registered. You will be required to provide us with the source format and target data formats you require, as well as file content information. You will be able to gain access to your quotation information over the Web, via your Login and Password.

In order for us to process your data we will need to agree the format, media and supporting information e.g. compressed etc. in order to enable us to send the data to you. Click Here

No process is perfect and CAD conversion can have problems for variety of reasons including invalid format of data, corrupt parts, entities outside the scope of the application. If any of these problems arise Theorem have both the expertise and CAD systems needed, along with a host of tools to investigate and in many cases resolve these problems. This is a supplementary service and charged on a time and materials basis.
