JT to CATIA V5 CADverter Translation Service

The JT to CATIA V5 CADverter is a direct database converter between the JT file format, used by the UGS VisMockUp Visualisation product, and the CATIA V5 Modelling Application. It enables the user to convert all forms of 3 Dimensional Mechanical Design Geometry and Assembly data, together with system defined attribute information and colour information, between these two systems.

It can be invoked in either an interactive or batch mode. The command line interface allows the conversion process to be integrated into any process oriented operation e.g. create a CATIA V5 representation of the data while saving the JT data to a Data Vault. Alternatively the conversion process may be operated by using a standard Graphical User Interface. This allows casual users to make effective use of the product without needing to remember complex command syntax.

This product has been developed using a combination of the UGS JT Open and Dassault Systemes CATIA V5 Development Environments.

JT assembly and BREP geometry may be translated into native CATIA V5 CATProduct and CATPart data. In addition JT tessellated data may be processed into the CATIA V5 CGR output format.
